Grand Blanc Community High School Reviews

I can only say wonderful things about Grand Blanc Schools at the elementary and middle school levels. However, having 2 that have gone through the high school, I am greatly disappointed. I have had teachers show way too many movies (non-academic), spend time on their own computer, brag about the fail rate of their class, send a student to tutoring rather than spend time in class on a subject, etc. The success of Grand Blanc students is due to the strong foundation at the lower levels and the parent involvement, in my opinion. In addition, working with the office is like dealing with a govt beaurocracy: lots of passing the buck, rude, demanding, too big and impersonal.

i'm a student at grand blanc and it is the best school around. im only a sophomore and i already know that i am better prepared for college than the majority of students from other districts because this school is so amazing. it is large, which all the students love because it gives you a change to met a ton of new people. everyone is accepting at grand blanc, and their sports program is prettty good. the honors and AP courses are phenomenal; ive taken at least one honros class every year ive gone here. the teachers care about you personally and it is rare that you get a bad teacher who doesn't care what you do. it is strict compared to other schools with respectable rules that are followed to the T. if you want your child to get a good education and excel, send them to GBHS!

Grand Blanc is great. I would recommend this school. It's great and education is awesome.

I have had three children graduate from Grand Blanc. Grand Blanc is an excellent school system. The teachers, even at high school level will call if there is a problem or concern with your child. The academic program is designed to prepare your student for college. There are plenty of clubs and other activities to pick from.

I graduated from GBHS in 2005. Coming from a small town with 0 potential, Grand Blanc is awesome. There are so many different activities to be had and quite honestly, I feel that I could not have gotten a better education in another school. Education is just one thing, but the way the marching band has stepped up and showed the state that you can come from nothing and be one of the best. You truly learn to be the best in Grand Blanc. The area is great and the school district is great. I would recommend this school to any parent that wants their child to go somewhere with their life.

If you are a dedicated parent to your child's education and their positive behavior, then your child will thrive at Grand Blanc highschool. It is a big school but with that comes plenty of opportunities. It is a wonderful environment with very little negative influences. This is a great community and a nice place to raise a family.

Grand Blanc schools are far over rated. It is far too large and kids tend to get very lost. They study right before the MEAP tests so really the scores are not really true. There are very few extra curricular activities other than the norm. It is difficult for kids to participate in the norm because there are so many kids to compete with. Very over crowded and the teaching staff very much needs to be retrained. Have been here for 5 years and have not had a positive experience with the schools system yet.

I believe this school is truly remarkable and gives my child the best education possible. They have great academics and extra-curricular activities. The only downfall is due to the classy school district there are many cliques among the students. Team unity is not something I have witnessed at the sporting events. I am hoping that in years to come GBHS can create programs that let the students interact with one another...and not have the walls built among the students.

I graduated from Grand Blanc High School in 2002. It is an awesome school. I had previously attended Kearsley schools and was behind upon moving to GB. As far as saying that the teachers don't care about the students is completly rediculous. As well as saying that you have to be on a middle school team to be on a high school one. I myself didn't play sports in middle school but did at the Varsity level. Also, as everyone knows, GB is one of the top schools in the state. Overall they have great acadmics, athletics, and have everything a goal oriented student could ask for! I give Grand Blanc two thumbs up!! If anyone has any questions about the school, you can email me at GBCHEER02@hotmail.com. Thanks.

I have found this school to be the best school my son has ever gone to. My son has been to 14 schools in his life and has had trouble getting along with kids because of his tarrets. Here he has no problem. They have excellent programs and really make a difference in a students life. Plus kids have a better chance at going to an ivy league school going to Grand Blanc then they do going to most any other schools.

I graduated from Grand Blanc High School with the class of 2003 and have attended Grand Blanc Schools my entire life. I don't have a single regret about any of it. The teaching staff is wonderful, caring, and willing to help out in any way possible. Sure, there are a few teachers along the line that a student might not see eye to eye with, but that can be expected with any school, and it is easy to overcome with those teachers at Grand Blanc. The athletic teams at Grand Blanc are very strong, which is why one parent who reported that you have to be on a sports team in middle school to make the team in high school, however that is a very untrue statement. Students who have played a certain sport certainly will have an advantage over others, but any athlete that excells at a sport will play.

Upon placing our Gift son (IQ 130) InGrand Blanc High,We found Out that there program in this school are horrible. Teacher don't enjoy teaching and they hated parent to be involed with their child.OH Yes If Your Child is A Jock Then they have it Made But the Must Start out In Middle School because with over 2000 kids per there is not room to pick kids the coach have never met before. OH Yes If You Make one team You'll Make them all Because then the caoch will know your name.Pretty Sad For Kids Who really Wanna play. Teacher in this school would rather a child fails than help him or her along. This School also Only has exams to get half days becasue they really don't count for nothing.

i went to school in grand blanc. i found the school to be moe image concious than caring about the students. several f my friends were forced to change schools when they became pregnant. that is no way to treat children.

my daughter and son has been in grand blanc schools since the first grade and they love it! when we talked about switching them to another school they didnt wanna go and most kids would probably feel the same. thier father and I then put them in another district school and since they are very open minded to things they did their best but it never could compare. they went from a class A school to an class C schhool which did not bother them but the fact that the school had no extra curriculum programs or anything of the sort. they only took one field trip their entire 8th grade year at this new school (Atherton) unlike in Grand Blanc Middle School they took the kids to Europe in the 6th Grade and had plenty of other thing to interest the kids! they were not on a budget like the other C class schools in the area, and have every sport you can possibly think of and many different clubs also. If your child loves sports then Grand Blanc and Davison have the best for the state of michigan (and sometimes Keresely)but if your childs grades matter much more than anything else then they deffinatly only belong in one school in the state and that would be Grand Blanc.
