Holly Elementary School Reviews

This Elementary has some of the most caring teachers I have ever seen. From grades k-6 these teachers are FANTASTIC!

You will never find a better elementray school than Holly El! I have had two children in this school and have been part of the school's 'family' for 7 years in total. I say family becasue this school's atmosphere is that of a true faily; with love, understanding, comfort, trust, guidance, support, etc. I transport my children to Holly El personally, in order for them to stay in this school as this is not the school they were assigned to. My husband and I travel 30 miles a day to keep our children safe and happy at Holly El! If you are looking for academics ONLY, then reveiw all schools in this district, however, if you are looking for a an elementary school which offers strong academics, family & values, then I encourage you to find a way to send your children to Holly El too!

We've been absolutely thrilled with Holly Elementary. The staff is friendly and truely cares about each child. The office staff knows the names and personalities of nearly 417 children. My child has been determined by testing that she is gifted. The staff has provided additional academic challenges to meet her needs. The children who may be a little behind in academics are given additional guidance to help them keep up with the norm. Music, Art, Gym, Computer classes occur multiple times a week. Children play outside daily. After school activities are offered at low cost. Parent involvement is on an individual basis. The PTO is very active and supportive. The children of all grades get along well together. Safety is #1 priority.

My childen have been going here five years and one has two years to go. I love this school and so do my children. Safety, learning and the teachers are the best. Before the remodel and afer the childens art and work are on display in the hallways. Music can be always heard when there is a music class going. Smile can be seen on the staff faces and they do care for the childen.

My child just completed the first year at Holly Elementary in the third grade. I found that the staff was very pleasant when they met with you, but, they didn't followup and do what they said they were going to do. Also, fundraising efforts were overwhelming and non-stop. Not all families can afford the outrageous prices and the continual barrage to buy buy buy. One school picture fundraiser a year is enough! I didn't see my child benefit from any 'extras' from these funds. The reliance on the PTA to do some of the record keeping of attendance and lunch monies resulted in mistakes and my child being embarrased in front of other students by volunteer parents who made assumptions and didn't know the facts of the family's economic circumstances. Shame on the principal for allowing this to coninue when she was informed.

I also do not care for this school. I use to work in the district & had the pleasure of being in all the schools & to spend time with the students. On the whole, Holly El was the most diconnected with the children, the building was dirty, the lunch room was ugly & non-imaginative. No picture's or bright colord posters throughout the school. The children there were less responsive & more 'loud' than at the other school's.(I suspect due to boredom)All My children attend Holly schools. but they would never attend this one. I havent been in Holly El since all the schools had a 'make over'. lets hope Holly El got the most!

I have had one child that attended Holly El. from K-5, and I have a 2nd grader and Kindergartener attending this year. I think my children are doing wonderful. I'm very pleased with the school and the staff. Holly Elementary has a very warm and friendly atmosphere, I can't imagine wanting my kids to go to any other school.

This is a great school! The teachers and staff members really care about kids and their learning! My daughter just completed first grade and is reading at a third-fourth grade level. The class behavior and the way the teachers managed them was excellent. My daughter loves the fine arts as well and she had weekly music, art, P.E. and technology. Whenever I had a question about something regarding her learning, I always felt welcomed to ask. When I compare what my daughter has learned with her friends from other schools, she is right up there or above. She is already telling me how much she is looking forward to school starting.

My daughter only went to Kindergarden at Holly Elm. I have to say I was not impressed. She came out of School with no more knowledge than she learned in preschool. I was getting weekly reports on my daughters progress and was told she was doing wonderfully. But at the end of the year all her grades in reading had dropped. Her teacher said to me she was not going to worry about that, she would let her 1st grade teacher do the worrying. I know several other parents that have been very unhappy with this school. PLease check into it before placing your children here. There are many other options in this area.
